This Week in Happenings

Hello all! I hope you have a chance to get outside today to enjoy this beautiful day. I know that this past weekend was not beautiful at all, and because of it, many of you did not have the opportunity to join us on Sunday. If you missed the service, you can always check it out here. But there’s a lot we have going on that I wanted to make sure you know about, so in lieu of a reflection from me today, let me fill you in on what’s happening around Central…

First, we are happy to be providing the meal for the monthly AACC Food Pantry dinner tomorrow (Oct. 1). We’ll have all of the food cooked ahead of time (in steam trays), but we will definitely need some help tomorrow with setting up, food prep, serving, cleaning up, and spending time with food pantry folks. If you are able to serve like this, please show up at the food pantry as early as 4:15 tomorrow afternoon. The meal is from 5-7pm. Contact Matt if you have any questions, and/or to let him know you’re coming. 

Second, our bible studies are all back – and we’re having really great discussions. Tonight is our evening bible study for any and all who’d like to attend at 7pm in the Kraft Room. Tomorrow morning, Rebecca is kicking off the mom’s bible study at 10am. Contact Rebecca for more info. 

Finally, this Sunday is ‘Atlantic Highlands Day’ down at the harbor (touch-a-truck, kids stuff, food trucks, bands, etc.). The weather looks good now (thankfully!). So, as per usual, we’ll be hosting a booth, meeting folks, doing crafts with kids, and having fun with passersby (prize-wheel anyone?!?!) – all in an attempt to remind the community that we are here for them. We would love to have your help on Sunday at Atlantic Highlands Day, by putting our best face forward, working with kids, setting up, cleaning up, or just be a friendly face. If you’d like to serve in this way, please reach out to Matt or Rebecca. It’s from 11a-5p, but we’re usually there until about 3p.
