Easter is (Almost) Here!

Well, it’s here: Easter week! We had a great Glow in the Dark Egg Hunt on Sunday. To all who helped run things, welcome and direct people, run games and crafts, set up and clean up – THANK YOU. We welcomed in over 100 kids and their families to our building, and got to connect with a lot of them. It was a great afternoon. Thank you for using your time, gifts, and energy to serve how you did.  Amazing!

This Friday is Good Friday, and we’ll have a very special Good Friday worship service at 7PM. We will remember Christ and his cross, and reflect on the freedom that he won for us through all he endured. It will be a different sort of service, where we’ll sing some classic hymns and songs together, share in a special time of confession and prayer, hear scripture read, and share in the Lord’s Supper in a way we don’t typically do it. We’re hoping that you’ll be able to make it out, and take this time to remember the death of Christ for us as we look forward to Easter.

And speaking of Easter, it’s Sunday!  As we have for many years, we will participate in the AACC (Area Association of Community Churches) Sunrise Service down at the Atlantic Highlands Harbor Gazebo. The service will start at 6:30AM, before sunrise, and promises to be a hopeful and uplifting one. It looks like nice enough weather, but as you can imagine, it will still be chilly and most likely windy.  Make sure to bring a blanket, windbreaker, and something warm to sip on!  We’ll also have our own Easter Sunday service at 9:30AM, celebrating the resurrection of our Lord. We hope to see you at one – or both – of the Easter services!

Have a great Easter week, and please, take time to celebrate Christ’s resurrection, remember Christ’s death, and thank God for the new life God has given us through Christ and by the Spirit.

NOTE: we will have NO women’s bible study on Tuesday, April 2nd!
